Roaring Fork Equine Medical Center located just south of Glenwood Springs, CO seeks committed and passionate individuals to join our dynamic team of dedicated and caring veterinary medical professionals. We are an equine specific referral facility providing 24-hour emergency, critical care, and surgical services, as well as ambulatory medicine for our local clients. We are a three doctor practice, with two board-certified surgeons, who focus on sports medicine and rehabilitation. Our practice engages the latest technologies including digital radiography, inhalant anesthesia, stem cell, PRP and IRAP, digital ultrasonography, one-meter and three-meter video endoscopy, with a full diagnostic laboratory.

Equine Veterinary Technician
Hospital duties include intake for referral cases, daily nursing and medical treatments for inpatients, assisting doctors with outpatient and emergency cases, performing diagnostic lab work, and maintaining hospital functions. Duties also include management of inventory for ambulatory appointments, as well as assisting with examination and treatment of patients (including set-up, operation, and maintenance of diagnostic equipment). Successful applicant is team oriented, able to manage time and triage independently, have excellent communication skills, and strong work ethic. Emergency on-call shifts, overnight nursing, and weekends are required on an as needed basis and are shared equally among the team.

Nested in the Colorado Rockies, the practice area offers seven world class ski resorts, Gold Medal trout streams, whitewater rivers, and expansive wilderness areas. Glenwood Springs is also home to the largest hot springs pool in the world.
Competitive applicants are required to have a degree from an AVMA accredited school of veterinary technology, with equine related experience and training. Additional requirements include the VTNE and state licensure. Equine anesthesia experience is preferred.
Hours Per Week: 32-40
Salary/Wage: $17/hr and up, depending on qualifications
Benefits: Uniform, stipend for CE & association memberships. Additional benefits are offered after one year with practice.
