Veterinarian - Fellow
Dr. Emma McKenney was born and raised outside of Richmond, Virginia. She grew up riding and showing in the hunter/jumper divisions and spent her free summers working at her local racetrack. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Clemson University in 2021, followed by her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in 2025. Following veterinary school, Dr. McKenney completed a one-year internship at Roaring Fork Equine Medical Center. In order to expand her knowledge and skill in equine medicine and surgery, she has stayed on for a one-year fellowship.
Dr. McKenney’s clinical interests include equine acupuncture, sports medicine and rehabilitation, and general ambulatory work. She is currently working to complete her CVA certification through Chi University. She is passionate about holistic care and providing detailed, compassionate medicine to all patients.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. McKenney enjoys spending time outdoors, where she can often be found riding horses, golfing, skiing, or spending time with her dog (a crazy German Short-Haired Pointer).
