Roaring Fork Equine Medical Center is excited to announce that we are accepting applications for our equine veterinarian internship starting July 3, 2023 – June 28, 2024. Our goals are to provide a veterinarian equine intern with the exposure, education, and hands-on experience that she/he needs to be a confident and experienced equine practitioner. We also focus on ensuring quality of life is maintained and time is allotted to enjoy the beautiful Roaring Fork Valley.
The first two months of the equine internship will be directly supervised by one of our board-certified equine surgeons and/or equine internist. Following a two month supervised period, our intern will take on primary case management, with built-in supervision for complex cases. Our interns are offered an abundance of hands-on experience as well as the opportunity to focus on the areas of equine practice to which he/she is most interested. We make our intern an integral part of our team!
Our equine intern partakes in both field and in-hospital appointments as well as in-patient care. We also offer 24/7 emergency care and we support our intern in taking a leading role in many of these emergencies. All equine intern emergency shifts are supported and mentored by one of our board-certified equine surgeons and/or equine internist.
